Each year, Motor Trend chooses their “Truck of the Year” – a coveted award that celebrates the most versatile, powerful new truck on the road. Recently, Motor Trend announced one the top contender and winner for the award: the 2017 Ford Super Duty.
However, we at Aransas are looking forward to hearing about the Chevy Silverado HD- which has not yet released its qualifications.
When it comes to capability, no truck on the market outperforms the new Ford Super Duty, which has an astonishing maximum payload of 7,630 pounds. It also bests the competition torque-wise, producing 925 lb-ft of torque. That is an insane amount of power, allowing the truck to tow 32,000 pounds. It remains to be seen if the Chevy Silverado can top that. (Spoiler alert- we think it can.)
It’s no surprise that the title would go to the Ford Super Duty, especially considering the fact that the Ford F-150 model lineup has been the best selling line of trucks in the United States for years. Every new model bests its predecessor, leading us up to the 2017 Motor Trend truck of the year – the 2017 Ford Super Duty.
Lastly, though trucks of the Ford Super Duty’s size do not receive EPA ratings, experts contend that the new Ford Super Duty is actually one of the most efficient large trucks on the road, making it the ideal choice. Can the Silverado match it? You’ll have to wait and see
