You rely on your car every day to get you to work, run errands, and take you on exciting adventures. That is why it is so important to take care of your car and keep up with its routine maintenance. Unfortunately, many of us don’t think about it until a problem arises. In a recent survey by the Car Care Council, 25% of vehicles needed an oil change, 16% needed new windshield wipers, 18% had dirty air filters, and overall, 89% of the vehicles needed at least one service.
If you want to take better care of your trusty set of wheels, here are a few tips to keep up with service for your car.
Every month or so you should check your engine oil, tire inflation, windshield washer fluid, exterior lights, and dashboard lights.
Check every 3 months
Every three months, you should check your vehicle’s hoses, exhaust system, power steering fluid, belts, transmission fluid, and battery.
Check every 6 months
Every six months or 6,000 miles, you should inspect your wiper blades, power steering fluid, and chassis lubrication.
Check every 12 months
Once a year, you should inspect your brakes, cabin air filter, antifreeze, engine air filter, steering and suspension system, and wheel alignment.
